About Us

The University of Virginia is a community of 21,000 students and 13,000 faculty & staff. The University's Grounds, designed by Thomas Jefferson in the early 19th Century, center on the Academical Village and Rotunda. Together with Monticello, these early buildings comprise a UNESCO World Heritage site that remains the heart of the modern-day campus.

Throughout the subsequent two centuries, the University's Grounds have grown tremendously to include more than 525 buildings. These buildings are home to the University's eleven schools within 16.5 million square feet. The UVA Health System includes a 600+ bed hospital and Level I Trauma Center with 750,000 outpatient visits a year.

The University community now extends across Virginia from the College at Wise in the southwest to the Blandy Experimental Farm in the north. Over the last decade, UVA has built and renovated between $150 million and $200 million of construction work each year. The scope, scale, and history of this built environment presents unique opportunities and challenges to our office as we live, work, and play in these buildings every day.

We have an experienced staff of engineers and architects to provide technical expertise related to a myriad of complex design and construction issues. Regardless of the size or nature of your project, we look forward to working with you.
